Role inside ISAAC
POLITO will support the development of the Isaac framework, and specifically the reviewing of the current digitisation issues and cultural data interpretation and the definition of both a taxonomy of cultural goods and the glossary. In addition, POLITO will contribute to the development of a e-governance framework to manage cultural e-services that are informative, communicative and co-operative, participating to all: the development of an interpretative strategy for the three ISAAC cities; the reviewing of the impact of digitalisation on urban sustainable development in the three cities and their regions; and the development of a governance system to promote citizen inclusion in cultural and tourism activities in their communities.

Field of activities
The Casa-Città Departmentof the Polytechnic of Turin (over 130 staff) over has decades of experience in research related to historical studies, urban restoration and conservation, archaeology, construction and sustainability, property management, planning evaluation, estimating and tendering.
The portfolio of current and recent projects in the area of this proposal includes works on ICT, Sustainable Development, and Cultural heritage through the INTELCITIES Integrated Project, INTELCITY Roadmap, EU BEQUEST Network Concerted Action for DG Research, PIC INTERREGIIIB MEDOCC, URBAX2 (under Leonardo da Vinci programme), Be-Sharp project (United Nations and the European Union), Local Municipality Agenda 21 strategies comparison study between Salford and Turin (funded by the British Council and CRUI), Hierapolis archaeology in Phrygia (Turkey) and the catalogue of Islamic architecture, "Integrated Observatory of the Turin housing price market", developed in collaboration with the City of Turin and a number of projects founded by the Italian Scientific and Technological Research Ministry.
The Department currently provides consultant works and cultural services to local authorities and other public and private organisations (such as Piemonte Region, Sub-Regional Authorites, City of Turin, Italian Historical Housing Association, Sovrintendenza alle Belle Arti, etc.), including the Ministry of work and public services and the Ministry for foreign affairs in Rome.
